
Spiti Valley is a cold mountain desert located in the rain shadow region of the Greater Himalayan
ranges. It is snuggled in the north-eastern part of Himachal Pradesh.
In counter clockwise direction from Chandigarh, Spiti Valley circuit route takes you through Solan,
Shimla, Narkanda, Rampur Bushahr, Sarahan, Chitkul, Kalpa, Nako, Tabo, and Kaza on the National
Highway 5 (NH5) and and its peripherals.
The closing line of Spiti circuit traverses along the Spiti river and meets Manali town after passing
through the Atal tunnel or Rohtang pass.
The valley is bordered by the districts of Kinnaur in the south-east, Kullu in the south, and the valleys of
Zanskar and the Union Territory of Ladakh in the north. In the east, Spiti shares its boundary with Tibet
(China).
On arrival you will be welcomed by HSI member at the airport and then our driver will pick you from airport and will drive straight to Narkanda enrooting Solan/Shimla. At reaching Narkanda check in at hotel, Dinner and overnight stay.
Post Breakfast, start your trip to magnificent place called “Spiti Valley” Depart to Chitkul, Pit stop at Karcham dam and continue your journey towards Sangla valley. It’s approx. 6 hours’ drive through the mountains, along the Indo-Tibetan highway. Reach Chitkul by evening.Dinner & overnight stay. Chitkul is enchanted place of this beautiful land, high altitude river flowing right beside it offers amazing views of the nearby mountain peaks and also a starting and end point for multiple highaltitude treks.
Post Breakfast, explore the last Indian village towards China border and experience the white wonderland. Later drive to Tabo via Nako. Visit Nako Lake. Enroute take a tour of approx. 8 km to reach a small hamlet called Giu which is famous for a 500 year old mummy of a Buddhist monk. Cross the Ka loops enroute Tabo. Enter Spiti through Sumdo Border. Reach Tabo by evening, Checkin. Dinner
& overnight stay in Tabo.
Post breakfast, head to the oldest monastery of Spiti Valley – Tabo Monastery 900AD . Further Visit Dhankar Monastery which offers a spectacular view of confluence of Spiti and Pin River. Enroute
enjoy the scenic drive to Pin Valley Visit the Tailing hanging bridge and drive further to Mudh Village by evening back to Kaza. Dinner & overnight stay in Kaza homestay.
Post breakfast, head to experience the true beauty of Spiti valley. Visit wonderful places such as Key Monastery, Kibber, Hikkim, Komik, Langza and eat at the highest cafe in the world. Key Monastery is the largest monastery in Spiti valley. Kibber village which is the part of Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary. Hikkim (World’s highest post office) Komik (the highest village in the world connected through a motorable road) Langza (the site for the holy Buddha Statue overlooking the snowcapped mountain peaks). Return to Kaza by evening. Dinner & stay in Kaza.
Post breakfast, check-out from hotel. Drive to Kalpa/Rampur. Reach hotel by evening. Dinner & stay in Kalpa/Rampur.
It’s time to go back home. Wake up overlooking to the famous Kinner Kalash peak. Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel and return journey back to Chandigarh. Reach Chandigarh by evening
